Description: This work analyzes the microstructural evolution and mechanical properties of the bearing steel EN 100CrMo7 subjected to different heat treatment cycles. In particular, austenitizing, quenching, and tempering at 280 °C with different holding times were carried out, and the results were compared with an austempered material. Metallographic analyses using optical microscopy and SEM, together with hardness tests, were used to correlate microstructural variations with the mechanical properties of the material. The results highlight how the parameters of heat treatment significantly influence the microstructure, hardness, and stability of tempered martensite.

Description: The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the erosion resistance of a newly designed welding coating and to compare it with two commercial ones. To do this, erosion tests were performed in different conditions and profilometric analyses. The results showed that all three coatings have a comparable erosion index under the same conditions.

Description: The thesis was developed to examine how process parameters a low-pressure die cast (LPDC) automotive component.
